Emmerson is 1!

Last Friday, June 14th, Emmerson turned 1!  We had a low key day just celebrating her and getting ready for her birthday party the next day.  Andrew actually got the day off (he has been working long construction hours) so in the morning she opened her gifts...

She got this chair just like Ollie's from my parents.

Some clothes.

Hair bows.

This cool toy from our friends.

And a necklace because she loves wearing mine.

Kisses time.

And an owl bank.

Trying out their chairs together...

Can you see the barrier we have to put up so Emmie doesn't get the TV!?
Then Andrew had to put up our new curtain rods in the living room...
Helping Dad.

Love that face!

Time for a snack.

Love this girl!
For her birthday treat we gave her an oreo pop that I made for her birthday party.  She loved it...

So Emmerson is still getting into everything!  I am always picking up after her but I decided that is better than a crabby girl that always needs me.  She is very independent but still loves to be held.  She is sleeping great!  Usually 8-7 with two naps.  She drinks a bottle of warm whole milk in the morning and one before bed.  She loves her bottles and will fuss until she gets it.  She is walking fast, goes up and down stairs and her new thing is going down our toy slide by herself.  She likes putting lids on things, wearing necklaces, loves her blankets, and stealing anything her brother has.  She is saying "ba, ba" for bye bye and "hot".  She likes animals and makes a certain sound "do, do" when she hears or sees a dog.  If you ask her a question she will shake her head yes, and if you tell her to get her paci or blankets or other commands, she knows what to do.  She is getting a little better at not doing something when we say no but sometimes thinks it is a game.  We don't have her doctor appointment until Thursday so we will see how big she is getting then. (At her appointment on the 27th she weighed 19 lb and was 29.7 in long.  About 20th percentile for weight and 70th for height) She is my sweet little adventurer that doesn't want to miss a thing.  We love you so much Baby Girl and are so blessed to have you!

The Circus

A couple weeks ago my parents took us all to the circus in town.  It was a really good circus and we had a blast.  Ollie just sat on Andrew's lap the whole time in awe.  Emmerson did a really good job sitting and watching too.  It lasted a lot later that we thought it would but still decided to go get ice cream afterwards.  Ollie still talks about the circus and wanting to go back an see the elephants and tigers.  It was an evening he will remember for a while.  Thanks Dad and Mom for the fun memories!

ready for the show!

the elephants ollie loved.

the tigers jumped through a ring of fire!

mackenzie and aaron rode the elephant.

Memorial Day Weekend

This past weekend was so great!  I'm bummed that I forgot to take any pictures (besides a couple my mom gave me) but I do want to write it down so we remember.
Friday night Ollie and I got to go the a movie in the park.  We saw The Lorax, and had so much fun. Ollie sat on my lap the whole movie and we had some fun snacks.  Such a fun date night with my sweet little man.  As we were walking back to the car after the movie, he looked at me and said "Mom, thanks for watching the movie"!  (something similar to that)  Made my night :)
Saturday we stayed home and just hung out and got stuff done.  Love Saturdays like that!
Sunday after church we went up to my parents and hung out.  Love spending time with family...

Emmerson wanting to join in the fun.

Monday we had some friends from our college days down.  It was so fun to see everyone and catch up.  It wasn't the best weather but the boys did get some disc golf in and we sat around the fire pit after they came home wet.  Fun times.  Fun weekend!

Emmerson 11 Months

Tuesday, Emmerson was 11 months old.  Crazy that she is almost a year!  She is such a fun sweet girl with a lot of personality.  She is starting to want me more when others are around but loves it when her daddy comes home.  Just yesterday morning she was giving him kisses before he left for work.  Melted my heart!  She still loves to be with Ollie and loves to take his toys.  Once in a while I catch them fighting over something and she is usually pulling his hair to get it!  It is hilarious!  She is starting to sit and look at books on her own and she loves her two fuzzy blankets but usually only needs them in bed.  She is sleeping from 8 pm to usually around 7 am.  And taking about an hour and a half nap in the morning and a 2 hour one in the afternoon.  Just this past week I ran out of breast milk and am not producing any so we slowly moved to vitamin D milk.  She loves a warm bottle in the morning and will fuss until she gets one before bed.  She has two teeth on the bottom and one coming in on the top.  She will not eat baby food and likes a lot of the foods we eat.  One thing she still doesn't like is bananas.  So weird to me!  She still hasn't figured out how to go down steps but lately has loved sitting on the bottom one.  She can sign "more" and "all done" and uses "all done" a lot!  She has been pointing to what she wants and usually it is the neighbors swing.  She loves the swing!  She also knows how to throw a good tantrum... she will fall on her stomach and fuss, get up, fall on her stomach again, get up... it is hilarious!  Here are some recent pictures...

Mother's Day 2013

This Mother's Day didn't start out so good.  I woke up at 4:30 am not feeling well and went back to sleep until 5:30 when Emmerson woke up.  I was on the toilet with her playing around me until 7:30.  Andrew woke up and his eye that he had hurt on Saturday was still hurting so bad that he couldn't even open it.  I was feeling better so I called his eye doctor and set up for us to come in at 9:15 to get it looked at.  We got ready for church, got Andrew's eye looked at (it was a scratch so she put a healing contact in), and headed to church.  Andrew's parents met us there and we enjoyed a wonderful service and a meal at Applebee's afterward.  I did get to see my mom at church to tell her happy Mother's Day and actually had already spent a lot of the weekend with her :)  After lunch we came home and rested while the kids napped.  When they woke up we took Ollie's crib down (which he never crawled out of) and put in his new big boy mattress that Dad and Mom Wiese had brought.  He is doing a great job sleeping in it by the way!  After the bed situation was taken care of we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and then we were off to get ice cream per my request.  It was delicious and definitely hit the spot!  We stopped and got some groceries and some dirt for our garden and then enjoyed a grilled steak dinner....
Before our meal.

Had to get a quick picture before bed.

Silly kids!

One with Grandpa and Grandma.

Andrew and his mom.

Such a wonderful mother!
As crummy as the day started, it did end well.  Such a blessed time with Dad and Mom.  Oh, and Andrew did get me an air popcorn popper that I am super excited about!  Thanks Babe!
We are so blessed with two awesome mother's that daily show their love to us with their words and actions.  They are great examples of what Godly mother's should be like.  We love you both very much!  And I am so blessed to be the mother to my two sweet children that I love to death.  So excited to see how God is going to work in their lives.  Thank you Jesus!

Spring Fun

Last Wednesday, our MOPS group met at a park to hang out.  It was perfect weather and the kids had a blast!

The Zoo

On May 1st, some of the women from my MOPS group took our kiddos to the zoo.  It was a warm day but we still had a lot of fun.  We rode with my friend, Heather, and her little girl.  The kids did really well and enjoyed seeing the animals.  We were a little bummed that the elephants and a couple other animals weren't out to see.  I guess we may just have to go back!

Emmerson waiting :)

Emmie and Rachel.
Watching the kangaroos.  Ollie has not been good about smiling for pictures!

She did a pretty good job staying in her stroller.
