Oliver at 14 Months

My baby is now a little boy :( On the 24th Oliver was 14 months old! Here is what he is up to (most of this is just to have it written down for my records):
  • walking/ running everywhere
  • copying everything we do
  • helping me unload the dishwasher (he loves it and even knows where stuff goes!)
  • saying "hhhhh" for hot, "dddddd" for dog, holding his hands up and making a noise that sounds like "idunno" when he can't find something, and just yesterday "bbbbbb" for byebye
  • he loves to "play" disc golf
  • signing thank you, more, please, all done, and one he made up- music (looks like he is conducting)
  • only has 3 teeth (2 on bottom and 1 on top)
  • has sweet curls in the back of his hair
  • loves snuggling in the morning
  • loves music (his favorite right now is Go Fish and will let us know that he wants his music, not ours) and dancing
  • wants me to sing to him while I am rocking him to sleep
  • he usually listens pretty well (probably shouldn't have wrote that!)
  • is in between 1 and 2 naps
  • puts himself to sleep in HIS bed
  • loves rocks and wood chips
  • eat most things very well and wants to eat chips when we do
  • loves throwing things down stairs
  • still likes reading books and has favorites
  • when we are anywhere that has a TV he has to have it on- he stands in front of it and does his "music" sign (we only have one in the basement that is hidden behind doors so I don't think he knows it is there)
  • at Papa and Grandma's he loves to have the remote (without batteries) and sit in the pink chair and "watch" TV
  • loves drinking out of a straw
  • when he is eating he will hold his hand out to feed me and then pull it away before I eat it to "trick" me, and then he laughs :)
  • still a mommy's boy- doesn't like strangers or the nursery
  • he is growing out of some size 5 shoes
He is learning something new everyday which makes each day so fun! We love you Buddy :)

Iowa State Fair

On August 11th we headed up to the Iowa State Fair with Dad, Mom, Aaron, and Nichole. Our first stop was in Iowa City to see Brock's new condo, then Hu Hot and then the fair :) We had fun walking around and Ollie had fun pretending to drive the golf cart...

Our main reason for going up was to see Sanctus Real and Casting Crowns in concert. My wonderful friend who camps up at the fair the whole time, offered to watch Ollie during the concert. We had great weather, a fun time, and it was a great concert!

Sanctus Real...
Casting Crowns...
After the concert we headed to our hotel and then drove home Friday morning. We had a blast!

Mom's Birthday

On the weekend of August 6-7 we celebrated Mom Wiese's 60th birthday. We got there on Saturday afternoon and had a fun evening of delicious food, fun family time, and celebration..
Anna made the beautiful red velvet cake from scratch, good job Anna!

Ollie snuggling with Aunt Melissa...
On Sunday morning we had "church", opened gifts, and went to Happy Joe's to celebrate again!

Sunday afternoon we had fun playing crochet, bummed I didn't get a picture!
We are so thankful for you, Mom! Thanks for all you do and your love and prayers. We love you!

Date Night

One of our goals this summer was to go to a drive-in movie. So thats what we did a couple weekends ago! We dropped Ollie off at my parents, stopped and got Subway, and headed to the movies. While we waited we played some cribbage...

I love going on dates with my man... and enjoyed it heaps :) Love you Babe!

Gitche Gumee

Last week we went to Gitche Gumee Bible Camp in Eagle River, MI. Andrew's family goes every year and this year we invited Aaron and Nichole to come up and join us. We got a big cabin because that was all that was left so we needed someone to help us fill the space... we had a fun time besides the fact that Oliver was a grouch to everyone! He just wanted to be left alone to explore, or he wanted me. Here are some highlights:
  • Getting to be with all of Andrew's family together... besides AJ :(
  • The ping pong tournament that Dad got 1st place in and Dan 2nd.
  • The beautiful sunsets.
  • Oliver rolling around in the sand on the beach.
  • Ultimate frisbee and volleyball.
  • Oliver having a rock in his mouth almost the whole time :)
  • Delicious food.
  • Finding rocks at Horseshoe Harbor.
  • Shopping in Calumet.
  • Late nights playing games.
  • A break from the heat with 70 degree weather.
  • Oliver doing such a good job driving 11 hours there and back!
Here are the 101 pictures...

We enjoyed every minute of our time with family! We love you guys :)
