Emmerson 8 Months

On the 14th Emmerson was 8 months.  She is still a content baby but is our little drama queen :)  She is crawling everywhere very fast, crawling up stairs, and is getting into everything.  She is standing on her own for a while and taking a couple steps if she is holding on to something.  She is being more vocal and loves to "dance" when she hears music.  Emmie loves playing with Ollie and sometimes goes into his room to wake him up in the mornings.  She still a picky eater and isn't interested in baby food.  She does better with finger foods but we are trying to be careful what we give her, so we are still nursing every 3 hours.  She is still chapped around her mouth and I'm wondering if it is what she is allergic to that is doing it or just sensitive skin?  When she eats some foods it gets redder and blotchy, can't figure out what it may be besides milk.  Talked to her nurse and I need to keep a watch on it and we will talk more at her 9 month checkup.  She is taking 2 naps a day and usually sleeps 12 hours at night with 1 or 2 feedings. We love our smiley little girl...

Emmerson 7 Months

Monday, Emmerson was 7 months old.  It doesn't seem like it has been 7 months, yet it feels like she has been in our lives forever.  Anyway, she is crawling, yes crawling.  A couple weeks ago she started trying and for a week now she has been crawling on her hands and knees.  She also can pull herself up which she likes to do in her crib, when she is suppose to be going to sleep.  She just seems too little to be doing all this!
And she still won't eat baby food.  I am taking a break right now to see if that helps but she would NOT eat it.  She would spit it out, turn her head, close her lips, and cry.  And I may have tried a little too hard.  So, maybe we will try again soon.  But right now she does love puffs, has tried and ate a couple peas, and sucked on an apple in one of those mesh baby feeder things.  Maybe we will just skip the baby food?  I also tried putting a little formula in her bottle the other day and she broke out in a rash around her mouth and on her chest.  I am thinking maybe she is allergic to cows milk?  We should probably get this checked out.
She still isn't sleeping through the night. The other night she did do 8 hours which was great!  She just wants to eat and goes right back to sleep.  Soon we will have to do the cry it out method and I am not looking forward to that!  It did work with Ollie though.
She already knows how to fuss and cry to get what she wants or if Ollie is bugging her.  It is so funny sometimes.  Yesterday she was sitting on the floor playing with a toy and she just started laughing, then we would laugh, then she would.... so cute!  That little personality is already showing :)
Someone told me the other day that she has never seen a little girl look so much like her mom.  I hear Ollie too though.  Must be a good mix...

We love you sweet little Momma's girl!
