Pumpkin Festival

Last weekend we drove over to Morton, IL to visit family and attend the Pumpkin Festival.  We drove over Saturday morning in time for the parade.  We always sit at my aunt and uncles house right on the parade route...

love getting to see my grandma

After the parade we had a delicious lunch  and caught up with everyone.
my cousins came back from georgia

In the afternoon we went over to Grandma's house so I could do my mom's hair for her class reunion.  Grandma got to hold Emmerson for the first time while Ollie took a nap on the couch.

mom all ready for her class reunion
Next we headed over to the pumpkin festival to meet some friends we hadn't seen in almost 2 years.  Ollie was in awe of all the rides but didn't really want to go on one.  Then we went to my other aunt and uncles for pizza before we headed home.
Such a wonderful day spent with family.  So blessed!

Oliver Update

In three days Ollie will be 27 months.  He is such a fun sweet little boy.  His new thing lately is pretending.  It is so cute!  For example, he likes to pretend he is going to football cant (camp) like Daddy did for a couple of weeks.  He loves doing things like his Daddy :)  He has also been putting things in other things.  Like putting his paci in the toy barn, or putting litttle toys in his school bus or fire truck.  He also likes to put his paci in a bag that he can carry around.  Think it is time to get rid of the paci :)  Ollie has also been going pee on the big potty.  Bummer part is that he doesn't tell us when he has to go.... but usually when we ask he goes.  We are going to start being more intentional about potty training this fall when we can put undies on and go outside most of the day.  He loves his baby girl and loves to tell her what he is doing.  Such a good big brother.  We have started learning a letter of the week along with a memory verse.  He is doing a really good job but doesn't always like to share his memory verse with others.  He still loves being outside and loves anything that has to do with balls or throwing. He is taking a 2 or 3 hour nap in the afternoon.  It is so nice because usually Emmerson will sleep during part of his nap and I have time to get things done.  He still loves cuddling after naps, I hope that never ends :)  He is talking a lot but is shy around big groups or people he doesn't know.  He went to my brother Drew's football game the other night with my parents and sat on my mom's lap the whole time.  Such a good boy :)

loved sweet corn this summer

likes wearing emmerson's headbands

loves listening to mom's ipod

We are so thankful for you Ollie boy.  We love your sweet spirit and cuddling with you every day :)

Emmerson 3 Months

Emmerson was 3 months last Thursday.  She is such a sweet good baby.  She has been sleeping through the night since around 8 weeks and does a good job of putting herself to sleep.  Around 10 weeks she started rolling over both ways!  So crazy!  I can tell she is going to be more of a mover than Ollie was :)  She is so smiley especially when Ollie plays with her.  We love to hear her giggles once in a while. She has been sitting pretty well in her bumbo these past couple of weeks and she loves being where the action is.  Last weekend we drove up to Chicago in the evening and she was not a fan of sitting in her car seat in the dark.  When it is light out she does pretty well.  Here are some recent pictures...

first time in bumbo

visiting cousins in chicago... not too happy

a little happier

We enjoy seeing her personality develop and love snuggling with her!  We love you baby girl!

Weekend

Last weekend Andrew was gone on a retreat so the kids and I went up to my parents for the night. My parents left for Drew's football game in the evening so a friend that I grew up with came over with her little girl and we got to catch up.  So fun!
Sweet Emmerson fell asleep in the bouncy seat...

The next morning I cut Drew's hair and Ollie ate breakfast while Mom gave Emmerson a bath.  Not sure how he got like this?...
Then we left for the Town and Country Days parade...

Ollie wasn't very interested in picking up the candy.  He just wanted to eat it and watch the parade :)  On Sunday we were up at my parents again for the Fantasy Football Draft.  Us girls just had fun hanging out...
So did the two little boys...
Love weekends spent with family!

birthdays

August is full of family birthdays!
On Friday the 17th, Dad and Mom Wiese came down to celebrate Andrew's birthday as well as mine.  We got to give Mom her gift because her birthday was at the beginning of the month.  I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures but we had a lot of fun hanging out Friday night and going out for pizza.  They stayed over and took Ollie and Emmerson to my parents on their way home so Andrew and I could go to a movie.  It was so much fun!  Thanks so much for coming!
On Sunday after church we ate out and went back to my parents to hang out and celebrate Brock, Andrew, and me.  Thankfully my mom took pictures and sent them to me...

We feel so blessed to be able to celebrate with our family!  Thanks fam... we love you all!
