19 months

Tomorrow Ollie will be 19 months! We are enjoying him more and more each day. It is so fun to watch him learn and say new things every day.
The past couple of weeks have been a little rough around here. Oliver has never had to go to the Dr. because of sickness... well... this month he has. Twice. A couple of weeks ago he vomited all night and had lingering diarrhea for 4 days :( It was not fun at all! Poor guy. Yesterday, we took another visit to the Dr. after him waking up during the night with a 105 fever. We found out he has an ear infection and are praying that he feels better soon. I am not use to having a sick baby, and it is not fun (besides a few more snuggles).
Even though he hasn't been feeling well, he is still trying to say more and more words. His favorite thing to say right now is, "excuse me," with his hands up to his mouth, after he burps.
He still loves his Baby Einstein movies and this is his favorite place to sit and watch them...

A couple of weeks ago we had a nice snow. Andrew and Ollie had fun shoveling...
sledding (Andrew pulled him around in the sled and Ollie kept signing "more", "more"...
And he learned how to make snow angels and throw snow balls. They stayed out for a long time!
Another thing Ollie has been enjoying are these little fighter men and dinosaurs that Andrew had as a kid.
The other day I found him up on the window sill, putting the men on the deer antlers...
Andrew had done it with him a couple days before. He remembers very well what he do with him or what he sees, even after one time. For example, a couple of times we have told him that there is a baby in my tummy and we said "hi" to the baby. Well today as I was rocking him before his nap he pulled down my shirt and said, "hi, baby". Even though I know he doesn't understand, it was so sweet :) We are having to be more careful about what we say and do around him, which is good for us!
And finally, our little boy got a little man haircut. He looks so grown up...

We love you Buddy, so much!

17 weeks

Last Thursday I was 17 weeks! Almost halfway, kinda :) I had a Dr.'s appointment and the heartbeat was 141. On Feb. 2 we get an ultrasound but we aren't going to find out what we are having. So excited to see our baby again! I am feeling really good but still get tired in the evenings. We will be moving Oliver into the office when the baby comes and will be making a couple minor changes to the nursery. We haven't really started moving anything out of the office but have talked about it a lot :) As of right now, Andrew would like to make bunk beds for Ollie's room. That probably won't start until this spring :) We are getting more and more excited! Here I am at 17 weeks...

Christmas 2011

I'm finally getting around to posting about Christmas. Ollie didn't enjoy opening gifts as much as I thought he would. He started liking it more once he figured out there might be something he liked in it but still not as much as I thought...
We started out with our little Christmas...
Then had Christmas at my parents...

and then enjoyed celebrating Christmas with the Wiese clan for 4 days. It was so fun getting to spend quality time with them :)

Abby and AJ joined us for opening gifts... so sad they couldn't be there with us!
Of course the boys went disc golfing and Ollie just trailed behind :)
Melissa and I are due about 7 weeks apart!

On Monday, we went to a pizza place that is kinda like Chucky Cheese's. It was really fun and of course Ollie just wanted to play any game that had balls THE WHOLE TIME!

We had a wonderful Christmas season and are so thankful that Jesus came to Earth to die for us.

18 Months

Our baby boy is 18 months old. It's so crazy how much he has grown up! We had his 18 month check-up today and he did not like it. He weighed 27 lbs and was 34.7 in. tall. He is a healthy growing boy.
He is able to communicate very clearly what he wants. He loves to go down in the basement to get the football helmet (which is way too big for him) and has us wear the helmet while we play football. Another thing we have to do while we are down there is throw darts. He just likes to sit in the chair and watch :) He also loves to play basketball with his new hoop Grandpa and Grandma Wiese got him for Christmas. Pretty much he loves anything that has to do with balls. I think he got 10 for Christmas :) He still loves watching Baby Einstein and would watch them all the time if I would let him. He never lets us forget to pray before meals and sometimes he even wants to pray again during the meal, it is so sweet.
He has unfortunately been saying "no" a lot more lately. He doesn't say "yes" yet, he just smiles a cheesy grin when the answer is yes. His favorite phrase is still, "watch this, mom", or ''watch this, dad". He is trying a lot of new words but doesn't always say them clearly. He loves animals and can make most animal sounds.
Ollie had his first tantrum a couple of weeks ago over not wanting to sit in his highchair to eat his cereal. He probably cried in my lap for 3o min and finally he decided he was hungry enough to sit in his highchair to eat. I am finding out how hard it is to be consistent and discipline.
He loves his pacifier. Even if he has one in his mouth, if he sees another one, he wants it so he can switch them. It is so funny. We are trying to put them out of sight when it isn't nap time. He is still usually very laid back and goes with the flow. We love his kisses and hugs and his tender heart.
We haven't taken his 18 month pictures yet so here is one of him helping Andrew put his basketball hoop together and one of his playing with a ball...

Baby #2

We are so excited for Baby Wiese # 2 and excited to welcome the 2nd trimester! I am due June 14th which is one day before Oliver was due. So they will be 2 years apart, hopefully not exactly! I am starting to feel better but still a little nauseous in the evenings. Much better than all day though! At my 9 week appointment, I got to have an ultrasound to make sure when the baby was due...

It is so amazing how you can see the arms and legs so well when it is so tiny!

Here I am at 10 weeks...

Hopefully we will remember to take pictures more often... like tonight hopefully!

I had my 13 week appointment today and the heartbeat was 152. We are so thankful that everything is going well so far. God is good :)

Snow Day

We had our first real snow blanketing the ground when we woke up this morning. And then our first real snow day, Community Bible Study was cancelled so Ollie and I decided to go out and play in the snow! It would be Ollie's first real time playing in the snow. He loved it (besides having to wear his mittens)! We stayed out for about 45 minutes and surprisingly when we got back inside, every part of him was still warm.

Oliver's new words lately are, "watch this". We think he learned it from his cousins but he says it a lot and won't do what he is going to do (usually fall down) until we are watching him. He is getting his molars in and I can tell because he hasn't been sleeping as well some nights. He is doing a really good job at putting his animal puzzle together all by himself and loves to dance with dad. :) In the picture below he got the scale up on his slide and I'm not sure if you can see it but he has eye liner on his face. He loves his slide (walking up it especially) and helping me put makeup on...

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. We spent the first 2 1/2 days with Andrew's parents. It was fun to just relax and spend time with just his parents, we don't get to do that too often. On Thanksgiving Ollie got to have fun on Grandpa and Grandma's slide they got out and let us take home. He loves it!

We spent the afternoon preparing our Thanksgiving feast, and that it was!

On Black Friday morning, Andrew woke @ 5:15 am to go disc raking (not shopping) with Zach and his Dad. He had a blast and they found 30 some discs I think. When he got home around 9ish we went shopping while his mom watched Ollie for us. It was such a treat! Ollie had a lot of fun with Grandpa and Grandma :) Thanks so much for everything Dad and Mom! We love you!

Friday afternoon we headed down to my parents and got to hang out with some new friends for the evening. We had fun just hanging out and playing games.

We stayed up late until Dad, Dustin & Leah, and Brock got back from the Iowa vs. Nebraska game. It was so good to see Dustin and Leah again!
Saturday morning we went to Grandpa and Grandma Massner's for brunch. While we were getting ready to go, these 3 decided to dress up (or down)....

And then these 2 decided to to do Grandma's laundry...

They love playing with Uncle Drew...

The brunch up at G&G's was delicious and everyone but Nichole and I stayed all afternoon to play games (we had to put the boys down for a nap). Saturday night @ Dad and Mom's, us kids got out the Dutch Blitz cards...

and played Things...
It was so much fun having everyone together and just having a blast together.
Sunday afternoon, Mom took pictures for her Christmas card. Here is a good one of our family (besides Andrew's mustache that he and my brothers grew out for Movember, so sad I didn't get a picture of them all with the mustaches before my brothers shaved theirs!)
...
A good one of Dustin and Leah...

A good one of Aaron, Nichole, and kids...

And I forgot the picture of Brock and Drew... but most of you will see it on the Christmas card :)
Mom snapped a cute picture at lunch of us praying with Ollie... I'm sure he reminded us to pray, or maybe this is our second time?... just glad he likes to pray :)

Here is a good picture of Mom and Nichole while we were preparing our Thanksgiving feast for Sunday night.
After our delicious feast we celebrated Aaron's birthday.
My brothers and Zach singing Happy Birthday. So glad Zach could join us for "Thanksgiving".

And of course, we can't forget the moment Ollie got to drive Apa's (Papa's) truck. He had been asking all weekend and finally got to do it :)
U. Don, A. Carol, and Marie also came out to celebrate and hang out. It was sad saying good-bye to Dustin and Leah Sunday night because we aren't sure when we get to see them again... probably next summer :(

We had such a fun Thanksgiving and are so thankful for wonderful family, our Savior who died for us, and so many blessings.
