Drew's Birthday

On our way back from our pumpkin weekend we stopped at my Dad and Mom's to celebrate Drew's birthday.  We had hot dogs and roasted smores....

We love you Drewby!

Pumpkin Weekend

The weekend of October 12th and 13th we went up to Dad and Mom Wiese's to celebrate their anniversary and pick pumpkins.  It was a beautiful weekend and such a blessing to spend time with family....

Applesauce Day

October 9th, Nichole and I went up to Mom's to make applesauce.  Nichole brought their jeep and Jake's new four-wheeler for the boys and Emmie to ride around on.  They had a blast....

And our applesauce turned out delicious!  Thanks so much Mom!

Abby

At the end of September Abby came back for a wedding in St. Louis.  Andrew and the kids got to go up and see her at Dad and Mom Wiese's before she headed back to California.  I was hosting a baby shower so I didn't get to go with them.  They had a good time seeing Aunt Abby...

Thanks for pictures Abby!  We hope to see you soon!  Love you!

Ollie Boy

Oliver is growing up way too fast!  He is enjoying Cubbies at Awanas and does an awesome job memorizing his verses.  He also loves going to Community Bible Study.  They have such a good kids program that he really enjoys.  He does such a good job with Emmerson unless of course she is bothering him.  He loves giving her kisses and helping her.  He calls her a "missy missy goose cheseball."  He is still into coloring and does a super job staying in the lines and even sometimes choosing the appropriate colors for a tree, etc.  We are still working on writing letters and he can write quite a few.  He isn't falling asleep during his nap every day and is doing a much better job of falling sleep at night.  His cousin, Jake, came over for a sleep over last weekend and they did great falling asleep right by each other.  They had so much fun together.  I wish I would have taken a picture!  He is using his imagination so much right now and it is so fun.  Daddy taught him the Iowa State fight song and he has been requesting it every night and now knows it by heart.  He has also been interested in time lately.  He has been asking what time it is and wants to know at what number he has to go to bed :)  His chores have been helping pick up, putting away the silverware, and helping fold wash cloths.  He has also enjoyed watching Uncle Drew play football this fall.  He always talking about which color the teams are going to be and that Drew is number 81.  He is such an encourager!    He is always telling me how I make good food and always complimenting us. We love you sweet boy!

Emmerson 16 Months

On the 14th, Emmerson was 16 months old.  She has quite the personality and temper.  She is so animated and loves being silly and getting in on the action.  For a few weeks now she has been throwing some bad temper tantrums that can last for quite a while and there is nothing I can do to make her stop... unless it is giving her what she is throwing the tantrum about, of course :)  She has been a wonderful sleeper and still loves her blankets and her bottle, although the morning one is pretty much done.  Hopefully she will start drinking milk better out of a sippy cup.  She is saying a few words.  If you ask her a question she will either shake her head no or say "uhhhhhhhhhh... yeah!" She says "bo" for bowl, "dada" for Daddy, "mo" for more (while signing), "wa" for water, "co" for cold, "cheese", "tinky" for stinky, and still "ba" for ball, "do" for dog, and "hot".  Even if she can't say it, she communicates very well what she is trying to say.  She loves the bathroom and runs to it anytime she hears the door open.  She loves brushing her teeth and lately she has been wanting to sit on the potty.  She has also been coming to me and telling me she is "tinky".  Here are some things Emmerson enjoys these days:
reading books
going on walks
going down slides
watching movies (for a little bit)
climbing on chairs
"coloring" with Ollie

This is her "cheese" face.

We love you sweet Baby Girl!
