2 years

This sweet little man has been in our lives for 2 years.  It's so crazy how fast time flies yet it feels like we have always known him.  He is at such a fun fun age, we are enjoying him soooo much!  Here are some things he has been repeating and repeating:
"whaaaat?! daddy says it"
"i want more noooooodles. greema (grandma) says it"
"how do? greepa (grandpa) says it"
"sliiime! kate says it"
"chiiiips! anna says it"
He has also been talking about the bird hitting our living room window and how he was scared of the fireworks and cried.  He is so funny.
He has been sleeping in his big boy bed (the crib we borrowed and put in his new room).  We weren't sure how he would adjust to sleeping in a new room but he seems to be doing well.  Over the summer we will work on making the office his room and moving Emmerson into his nursery.  He has also been going pee on the potty.  He isn't very good about telling us he has to go so we try to remember to ask him often.
He has been a wonderful big brother.  He loves to put her paci in and get me diapers and wet wipes when I need to change her.  He calls her baby girl, it is so sweet!  Here are some things he says..
"what's matter baby girl?"
"you want paci baby girl?
"hi precious" -got that one from his dad
Once in a while when I am tending to Emmerson he will want me to hold him but that is about the extent of his jealousy.
He is really into playing golf and baseball this summer.  He calls his golf club his "hit it" and will hit a ball around forever.  He loves being with Andrew, especially when they go disc golfing.
Playing horseshoes with Daddy.

Playing songs on Daddy's phone.

So excited to go disc golfing!

Playing golf.

At his 2 year appointment he weighed 30 lbs and was 35 in tall.  We are so blessed to be given a healthy boy to love and raise!  We love you Buddy!

Oliver is 2!

On June 24th Oliver turned 2!  After church we had his birthday party at my dad and mom's gym.  We invited family and some friends and just kept it simple.  We couldn't have done it without the help of our family!
Because Ollie is obsessed with balls we went with a ball theme and did ball park style food.  Hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts... added in some grapes and cupcakes with ice cream.  We ended up opening gifts first.  He loved all of his gifts and had so much fun playing with a new baseball bat that he would swing like a golf club.  He hit balls around the gym forever!  So funny :)
It was fun introducing Emmerson to her cousins and some of our friends.  I'm so sad that I didn't get pictures of all of our guests!  Here are some pictures of the big day...

Going Home

We enjoyed our stay at the hospital very much....

but we were excited to take our little girl home!  We were so thankful that my parents could watch Ollie for us while we were at the hospital.  Mom brought him down to us before we left so he could see us taking his little sister home with us.  So excited to be a family of four!

Day 1

I was scheduled to be induced on June 14th at 7 am.  Around 1 am I felt a contraction that I thought was just gas pains but then around 3 am they started being around 10 min apart and I knew they had to be contractions.  I called the hospital and they said to still plan on coming in at 7 unless they started getting much closer together....

Before we went in.
We got to the hospital at 7 and they started getting me ready.  My midwife decided to start me on pitocin and break my water to speed things up a bit since they went so sllloooowwww last time.  Around an hour or two later things were progressing quickly so I got an epidural and sat/ rested for about 3 hours letting baby move down so I hopefully wouldn't have to push long...

and I didn't... after 11 minutes of pushing Emmerson Dawn was born at 3:01 pm.  Praise God it was so much faster than Ollie's 24 hours of labor and 5 hours of pushing!  She was 8 lbs 3 oz and 21 1/2 in long.  Her head was 36 1/2 cm.... almost 3 cm smaller than Ollie's was!

I got to hold her right away :)

healthy little girl!

Our first visitors were Dad and Mom Wiese...

Then Ollie came with Dad and Mom Massner, Brock, and Drew, and got to meet his little sister for the first time!  He was more interested in seeing Andrew and I :)

38 Weeks... and a Family Update

On Thursday I was 38 weeks.  I had my Dr. appointment on Wednesday and everything is going well besides my lower back hurting again.  It had been just aching, and then over Memorial Day weekend I went on a walk and it has gone down hill since then.  I think between doing my exercises, going to the pool, and going to the chiropractor I will be able to walk (not normal) until this baby comes.  I was dilated 2 cm and 50% effaced.  Progress but doesn't mean anything because I think that is what I was with Ollie this far along.  So, we talked about inducing again and she said that we could probably induce on June 14th (my due date) if i was ready.  We don't want this baby to get too big again and have a hard time getting it out like last time:)  So that is what we are planning for now....

38 weeks 1 day
So that means we have less than 2 weeks to get things finalized and ready.  With my back hurting it had slowed me down but thankfully Andrew has and will be able to help me more!  I have a list of things that I would love to have done so hopefully this next week we can get a move on :)  Here he is doing what I hate, dishes...

So blessed to have him :)
Ollie has been obsessed with Polish Horseshoes lately, and playing golf.  He loves his little plastic golf club (he calls it his "hit it") and loves getting his and "daddy's" plastic golf balls out.  He will hit balls around the yard forever and is getting really good at it!  It is hilarious to watch because he will have the perfect stance, line it up, and then hit the ball using a one armed swing.  Not correct form obviously, but like I said, he can hit it far!  He is our little outside boy... loves being outside playing or helping water the flowers or garden.  He even likes to help Dad pick peas and eat them :)

We love our sweet little guy, he is growing up too fast!  We are praying he adjusts well to having a new baby in the house.  We love you Buddy!
