Ollie's 1st Birthday Party

-be prepared for a ton of pictures-

So, Friday, June 24th, we headed up to my parents to start the party process. It was a balloon theme so we stayed up pretty late blowing up balloons (with an air compressor) and baking cakes and making cake pops. I was so thankful for more help!

Saturday morning we were up and getting ready. I got a little break to do Marie's hair for a wedding she was in...

Mom preparing the fruit kabobs...

The gym all decorated and ready to go...

Some of Andrew's family came early to help get ready, here are the men helping :)...

Some of our guests (I feel so bad that I didn't get a picture of all of them! I will have to get them from Mom Wiese) ...

Getting ready to eat...

Didn't get a picture of everything but the menu was:
2 different kinds of maidrites
baked beans
veggie tray
fruit kabobs
chips

Marie stopped by between the wedding and reception to say "Happy Birthday" to Ollie...

After we ate Andrew organized the games he had prepared. The first game was a balloon dart game...
And the second one was where you tie a balloon around your ankle and try to be the last person that gets yours stomped on. The kids (and adults) loved them...

Ollie and some of his cousins...
Next it was time for cake. Here are the cake pops we made and my lovely husband made the stand for me!

And Oliver's smash cake...
Singing "Happy Birthday"...
Here is the cake I made for everyone else to eat...

He did not like his cake!
He did enjoy playing with a cake pop though...

Present time... Ollie got so many fun gifts!

His 1 year birthday shirt I made him....

Dad and Mom Wiese with their grandkids...

We are so thankful that so much family could make it! It wouldn't have been the same without you all! Thanks for making Ollie's first birthday so special!
Ollie and Uncle Drew the next morning...

:)

Our Baby is 1!

On June 24, Oliver turned 1! It is so crazy that I have a 1yr old yet it seems like I have known him forever :) Our baby is turning into a little boy. A couple weeks before his birthday he started standing up on his own without holding on to anything and then a couple days before his birthday he started taking his first couple of steps. And now, a couple of weeks after his birthday, he is walking really well on his own but still crawls sometimes. He is signing "more" and "all done" very well and is getting very good at letting us know what he wants. He still only has two bottom teeth and is now only nursing once a day. He won't drink his whole milk very well so we are trying to get it to him in food forms :) He loves to watch Baby Einstein...

play with Mommy...
and is doing really well (most of the time) at putting himself to sleep and is sleeping really well through the night...

He loves taking baths but only gets to at Jake's house because our bathroom is still being remodeled...
On his birthday I had a MOPS meeting but afterwards we headed to the pool to play with his cousins...

We have been enjoying the pool a lot. Most days he is pretty good but sometimes after about an hour he starts getting fussy and tired.
Anyways, after the pool we headed up to my dad and mom's to start decorating the gym for his party the next day. It was such a fun day to remember back to when he was born and celebrate our sweet little babies life. He is such a joy and we thank God for him!

Keosauqua

On Tuesday, June 21st, Andrew's parents came down to pick us up on their way to Keosauqua to visit family. They also picked up our shower/tub and brought it down to our house for us!
Before we left we gave Dad his Father's day gift...

On the way...
We had so much fun catching up with family we hadn't seen in forever! It was a beautiful day so we chatted outside, ate pizza and ice cream, and took a little walk.

Thanks so much for the fun day Reimers and family! Can't wait to do it again!

Finally Father's Day

My goodness... I am way behind! Finally here is Father's Day...

Ollie gave his Daddy an Iced Tea Maker, a couple days early :)

On Saturday, June 18th, we headed up to my parents gym to have Father's day there with my dads side of the family. Here is ollie in the Lego table...

and Andrew with Mackenzie...
After dinner we all headed into the house to relax and play games.

and of course empty Grandma's bag drawer...
My Grandpa Massner...
they played games until wee hours of the morning :)
On Sunday, after church, we stopped at the Snake Alley Art Fair to see a friends booth. We ended up buying a couple pieces of her art which I am super excited to hang! Then we headed up to Dad and Mom's to grab a snack and give Dad his gifts before we headed up to Iowa City.
One fun gift we gave him was a picture of all the grandkids in St. Louis Cardinal gear, it was so cute and he loved it :)

Dad and most of his kids and grandkids... we missed you Dustin and Leah!

We then headed up to Iowa City to do some shopping and to eat at Dad's choice, Texas Roadhouse. Those rolls are to die for!

We had a wonderful Father's day and are so blessed with two wonderful father's that are so wise and great examples. Oliver is also blessed to have such a fun and loving dad! We love you Dads!
