Baby Shower

On Saturday our family and friends showered our baby with many blessings! My Aunt Carol hosted it at her condo. The hostesses made an amazing brunch that consisted of breakfast casseroles, baked french toast, fresh fruit, coffee cake, and to top it off, strawberry shortcake!

Leah, Whitney, and I. I was so glad it rained so Whitney could come!
The amazing diaper cake that my friend Anna made for our baby... it was so adorable!

Before I opened gifts, Aunt Carol gave a short devotion on how mothers need to trust God with their children. It was very encouraging! Also, they had all the ladies write down advice or encouragement for my baby and they wrapped each piece of it around a candle. So when my baby is 1 it will get to open the one piece of advice. When it is 2 it will get to open two... and so on. It was such a good idea and I hope that I can keep track of the candles and remember to give them to my baby on its birthday!

Andrew and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. We want to thank everyone that came and also everyone that couldn't make it but put money towards the big gifts we got. We were so surprised and excited! We can't wait for our baby to meet you all! We love you!

AJ & Abby's Open House Reception

On May 29th we went up to Lake MacBride State Park to celebrate AJ and Abby's (Andrew's sister) wedding, back here in Iowa. They got married in December out in California. It was a beautiful day and so good to see them again! Here is the beautiful couple...
We love you both and hope to see you soon!

37 weeks...

Tuesday I was 37 weeks! I am getting so anxious! Besides the heat and the itching I am doing well. I'm not sleeping the best because my hips are hurting but I know it could be worse. It's also getting harder and harder to bend over:) The baby seems to be healthy and is still moving around like crazy. At my 36 week appointment I was dilated a half a centimeter and 40% effaced. She didn't check this week but will next week! Here is a not so good picture at 37 weeks...
We can't wait and realize it could be any day! Maybe we should decide on names....

Congratulations Brock!

This past weekend my brother graduated from high school! On Saturday we had his graduation party at Dad and Mom's and on Sunday was the actual graduation. It was sooo hot in the gym! About halfway through I took Jake out and we watched from the air conditioned hallway:) Here are some pictures I took.

35 weeks... a little late

On Tuesday I was 35 weeks along. I have been feeling pretty well besides having itchiness. I am trying really hard not to complain because I know it could be a lot worse and I know it will go away soon after I have the baby. It is getting a little harder to bend over and doesn't take much to get hot! The baby is still moving so much and I just love it! I have my 36 week check-up on Tuesday and we will find out if the baby is head down in position and how things are going. I am getting super anxious!
We have been working on the baby room and have most of what we can done. I am excited to get some shower gifts to finish it up. We won't be able to completely finish because if we have a girl I will accent with some pink and if we have a boy with some blue or green. Our cousin is making us a quilt that I am super excited about! She sent me some fabric samples so I have been able to match things I have gotten with those colors. Here is what we have done so far!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day we spent the day with my mom. The boys made a fabulous dinner (with a little help) and we just had fun hanging out and holding Jake:)
Here is mom opening her gifts...

Mom with all her children!
We were bummed to not be able to be with Andrew's mom but got to celebrate with her last night! (so mad I didn't get a picture) We are so thankful and blessed to have 2 wonderful mothers who are wonderful examples and that show us their love by their actions. We love them so much and can't wait for them to be grandma's to our little one!

Baby Jake!

Our nephew Jake Allen Musselman was born on May 6th! He is so sweet and is a wonderful little baby. We can't get enough of holding him:) Here is a picture of him a couple hours after he was born.
Here he is with his favorite aunt and uncle 2 days later...
And here he is about a week old...
I thought I would throw this picture in of his little sister Kate who just loves to "pet her baby brudder."
We just love him so much and can't wait to have our little one!
